Pennie is currently the Vice President for Information Technology and CIO. She is also the University’s Information Security/Privacy Officer. At Clark, Pennie is responsible for ensuring that IT resources are aligned with the strategic priorities of the University. This includes administrative and academic information systems, instructional support, research computing, media services, technology-enhances classrooms/labs, applications development, help desk services, networks, cloud and on-premise systems/services, telecom, and data security/privacy policies. She is also responsible for the procurement of enterprise IT services/resources and management of vendor and partner relationships. Prior to joining Clark in 2006, Pennie was at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and 15 years where she built and cultivated technology-mediated learning environments as the Director of Academic Technology and Distance Learning. She also held technology-related positions at Texas Instruments and at IBM. Pennie holds a Bachelor’s degree in business from Worcester State University and an M.B.A. with a concentration in MIS from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
