Hillary J. Knepper, MPA, PhD is an Associate Professor and the Interim Associate Provost for Academic Affairs at Pace University. Prior to joining Pace, Dr. Knepper was an administrator in nonprofit and public sector organizations, specializing in health and human services. She brings this strong practitioner perspective to her research, with a focus on collaboration and teamwork. Her primary research has focused on system-level change, specifically how public policies influence outcomes, and the implications of how relationships across different sectors affect services, with particular emphasis on low-income, minority, and other underserved populations. Her secondary area of research is in gender disparities in public administration. Her recent work can be found in Journal of Public Affairs Education, Public Integrity, Nursing Outlook andPublic Administration Quarterly.She recently served as lead co-editor of a two volume symposium for the Journal of Health and Human Services Administration (JHHSA). The symposium was titled,Socio-environmental context of our actions: Building a culture of health. Her recent media interviews include City & Stateand a national video podcast for Public Integrity. She was recognized in 2018 by the American Society for Public Administration as one of 14 women in public administration and was featured in their Profiles of Excellence.
